Experiencing Fun Melodic Hard Rock Ride With Revolution Saints' "Light In The Dark"

Releasing their self-titled debut back in 2015, melodic rock trio, Revolution Saints, return with their second outing entitled “Light In The Dark” which had its officially release back on October 13, 2017. The group consisting of big name musicians such as Deen Castronovo (drums, vocals), Jack Blades (bass, vocals) along with Doug Aldrich (guitar) have attracted many rock enthusiasts with their first record, but not many were expecting they will return again for a second album. However, this rockers proved that they do have a strong commitment in showcasing their willingness in recording another records together and share their musical spirit with the fans.

 

On this second album, the band released 11 melodic hard-rock tracks, with an additional four more songs for those who opted to purchase the Deluxe edition instead. Not wasting any precious minutes on their musical journey, Revolution Saints kicked off their rockin' adventure with the album's title track , which is an upbeat melodic rock piece with catchy riffs and hooks that is very easy listening. Fine vocals display combined with Aldrich's fine guitar solos blending in so well, creating that fine anthemic rock tune for all ages. 'Freedom' seemingly has a deeper kind of feel with the atmosphere its bring from start to finish as the track once again showcasing the fine arrangement along with enchanting guitar play.

 

Another fast tempo rock track can be heard from 'Ride On', something fun and cool to tune in while driving away in a spacious highway. A more soft/ballad rock piece is being offered through 'I Wouldn't Change a Thing' that has that lovely piano playing especially early on before other instruments eventually kicks in. It's also a quite long song for ballad type of piece, but the lovely vocals along with musical arrangement makes it worthwhile. 'Don't Surrender' brings out that cool and heavy guitar riffs but still creating such a catchy hook part, another nice piece of track for any rock enthusiast out there. Those whose looking for another lovely, deep melodic ballad can check out 'Can't Run Away for Love' that will take listener reminiscing their old love life as its' beautiful melodies is simply captivating from start to finish.

 

 Another Chance' added synth effect early on to create that kind of dark, mysterious feel before rockin it out with heavy guitar riffs and up lifting drum beats. Another anthem like rock piece that simply showcasing Revolution Saint musical approach and qualities. The final song in this sophomore album is 'Falling Apart' that has that pop-rock ballad kind of feel and is simply a quite suitable ending for such an entertaining album. Overall, “Light In The Dark” is certainly a fun and exciting melodic rock album that many long time rock enthusiast might miss a lot since the change of music scenes in recent years. It's very nostalgic and somewhat reminiscing that late 80's early 90's atmosphere but being blend with modern sound that makes it remain up to date with current era. The songs are also written and arranged so expertly, proving that the talent of those trio maestro who never lost their musicality all of this years.

 

Being formed as a project at first by Frontiers Records' president, Serafino Perugino, many doubted that the band will be more than that side band for Deen, Jack and Doug, but their chemistry seemingly blend so well that they're eager to prove that they're in it for the long term.
