Music View: Countless Thousands' New Album "You're Goddamn Right"

 

Punk rock music continue to be an exciting genre that inspire lots of new musicians, such as what is being LA based band called, Countless Thousands. Following the success of their kickstarter campaign, this four piece rockers eventually manage to release their new album titled “You're Goddamn Right” which is scheduled to officially hit the market this upcoming October 28, 2016. Labeling their musical genre in the record as enthusiastic rock, this band produce six high energy upbeat punk stuff, that can bring that fun atmosphere for those who are listening to their songs. There's also that element of comedy being introduce by the punk rockers not only on their lyrics, but also from the titles of their tracks that are rather uncommon.

 

The album starts with a track called 'the Asskickers' Union' which has that uptempo joyful punk rock feel with exquisite bass line and crunchy guitar riffs. It's a quite enjoyable song as it gives out that fun atmosphere with that scent of humor being shared through the lyrics. 'We've Got A Dress Code' added a slight melodic feel into it, giving slight hint of pop punk feel with nice guitar melodies filling in. 'Excellent Horse Like Lady' is the band's rendition or some can say cover of North Korean female pop singer Hyong Song-Wol. The rockers claimed that they are intrigued with the funny music videos of the original track as well the song itself, while stating their views over North Korea's government.

 

'Only Child' is one unique track as the band somehow combine their high energy punk rock vibe along with some country music feel, creating that interesting piece of music. The melody and beat is as fun as their other songs added with another comedic lyrics, this song can easily captivated music fans from different genre. 'Webster's Dictionary Defines Marriages As' continuing their joyful humorous energetic rock song though this has a more pop rock/alternative feel musically, but still not losing that basic punk vibe the band have. In all, Countless Thousands crafted an exciting rock album that have strong punk feel with high energy, comedic element but still have excellent composition musically. It's a record that can attract music fans even from different genre to simply enjoy. The album is finally wrapped with a sixth track titled 'Gang Fight' which is another energetic punk rock track that offer that joyful atmosphere. This song also has an accompanying music video which provide funny scenes of the band getting into a 'fight'.

 

Being formed by four talented musicians, Danger Van Gorder (guitar/voc), Davey Munch (bass), Light Return (guitar/voc) and Jonathan Davis (drum), Countless Thousands showed their potential with their new album. The success of their kickstarter campaign somewhat showed how they already attracted strong attention from music enthusiasts. Nevertheless, the release of “You're Goddamn Right” can further put their name in the heart of fans all over the globe. Although some might consider they're not too serious based of the comedic element they bring, but musically this quartet were able to put on strong arrangement. This record is definitely a fun an entertaining musical journey that offer plenty humor and joy for its listener.
