Album Review: Andy Evans' Debut Album "Miracle"

Andy Evans

Another quality rock-blues album is set to entertain music lovers as Texas based musician, Andy Evans who released his debut album titled "Miracle" on January 26th, 2016. Inspired by top musicians such as, Fleetwood Mac, Rush, The Allmand Brothers Band, Jack White, Ryan Adams and many others, this upcoming record from James is certainly a breeze of fresh air in the current era where new quality rock album is quite rare. There are nine songs that are being presented in this debut album, including a 46 second of intro which is more like some sort of random mix from all the other eight tracks.

Basically everything starts with the record's title track, which is a lovely  slow rock piece wrapped with fine acoustic guitar and strong rocking vocals. '45' offer that soothing bluesy rock atmosphere creating an interesting catchy track, while 'Lesson Learned' bring out that classic rock ballad feel. Evans also showcase his musical versatility with 'Shape Of Lofe' that has a funky feel with interesting brass section arrangement and magnetic hook along with fun guitar solo. A heavy and dark atmosphere can be heard from 'Judas', giving that Led Zeppelin kind of element which should entertain rock enthusiasts. Another ballad with slight pop touch is heard from 'I Wish She Was Mine', for those who are keen with more bluesy touch, 'Elemental' can be that solution. The final track, 'Make It', sounds like another classic rock arrangement but still has that special modern feel into it.

Overall, Evans' solo debut is a quality rock album that is well written, arranged and performed by the talented musician. There's an interesting combination of music being composed into one with rock as its main glue which holds every pieces together. The Texas based musician's strong vocal along with excellent song writing ability managed to make this record much more appealing for wide range of music enthusiasts, including those outside of rock community. It's one of those albums that will entertain fans from start to finish without having too much preference over just one or two tracks as all eight are well delivered. Unfortunately, there's still no music video being released to accompany the upcoming release of "Miracle", but James do offer his title track as a free streaming piece via Soundcloud.
